Guitarist Mark Turner has lent his diverse talents to many notable artists in West Michigan and continues to play in the area's most exciting ensembles. Current projects include playing guitar with the uber-eclectic cover band Pretzel Logic (formerly Souper Stoopid). Mark recently completed a fantastic tenure playing guitar and bass with classic jazz organ trio Groove Merchant, joining local heavyweights Paul Lesinski on organ and Fred Knapp on drums. He also occasionally plays guitar in "Creolization," a Zydeco band led by brilliant local multi-instrumentalist David Molinari.
Mark started his music career in the early 1990's playing saxophone in Aquinas College's jazz program while attending Calvin College. Ultimately, disciplined jazz study proved no match to bashing out three chord rock and roll in dingy clubs. If, 15 years later, you think he's achieved some sort of mature, thoughtful balance between the two, you're probably wrong.
Mark lives in Grand Rapids with wife Natasha, daughter Zoe, and dog Daisy.
By day, he is an unapologetic geek here.
